Patten papers, 1725-1874.

The Matthew Patten papers contain a wide variety of documents relating to early colonial life in New Hampshire including court documents, surveys, personal letters, and journals from and by both Matthew Patten and members of his family. Also included are documents by his son David Patten and his brother-in-law Major John Tolford. These papers were originally organized by historian Judge Elwin L. Page before 1947.
